The Project

Reyna was commissioned by Brookfield Place NY to create a design for a vinyl wrap for three facades of the building. The install was to be on display from November 2020 to March 2021.

The Design

The artwork was meant to represent the winter months while being aloof enough to not allude to specifically the holidays since it would be up beyond the holidays. Reyna was able to incorporate her focus of making uplifting, vibrant imagery of women of color and also incorporate diverse figures to represent the landscape of New Yorkers that would frequent that area.

The Impact

“Each project I do feels like a nod to the fact that anything you dream is possible! If anyone had told me before this that a major space like brookfield would want to wrap their mall with my work, thousands and thousands of square feet, that thousands upon thousands of patrons would see I would may not have believed them.”

During the installation Brookfield properties set up an area for ice skating facing the Hudson calling for many to gather and enjoy evenings of fun while taking in the vibrant artwork.
